A political cartoon attempts to make a humorous statement about serious issues and or events occurring throughout the world.
When analyzing a political cartoon there are things you should look at to get a better idea of what is going on:
1. Activities
2. Symbols
3. People (Nationalities, groups)
4. Expressions (Body Language)
5. Words
Choose one of the political cartoons above and try listing some or all of these 5 aspects. After that address what issues or events the cartoonist is commenting on by explaining how the issue/event is being addressed by the cartoonist.

ReplyDeleteThe point of view of the author is to show that there is a lot of wars going on or a bad economy(?).And that it would be much easier to find a job at war then to find a job out in the streets. I believe this because there is a soldier talking to a college graduate about how finding a war is easier than finding a job.

ReplyDeletethe graduates are going separate paths, one a soldier and the other a ordinary, working American. The guy on the left is wearing all his gear and is carrying a rifle, whereas the other one is in graduation robes.
I agree with what the cartoon is saying but it isn't really as funny because well, it isn't =/ jobs are so hard to find these day that you can just say a few words and you can start a war.

I Agree with the cartoon that says "i figure its easier to find a war than a job these days" because there's so many people without employment and then there's a whole bunch of other people at war.The cartoon is kinda funny but not that much. It's not something to die laughing for.

I choose the cartoon of the global warming. were is saying that is harder to deny global warming. I like this cartoon because is showing everything thats happening now a days. The cartoon is showing the North Pole has become a country with a hot weather & the bears are getting a sun tan. Showing how there isnt gonna be no North Pole later on and all the animals are gonna extinct. Since all the ice has melt, if we keep we dont stop nor do nothing for global warming to stop . ReplyDelete"i find is easier to fight in war than to find a job this days" i totally agree with this, because now a days there are being more people needed to fight in war than to find a job. today to have a job is kind of hard because a lot of people are looking for the same job. going to war is like compromising your self for a country's safety and the people in it. like the people from the united states fighting in Iraq.

One of the cartoons is talking about global warming, they are showing their point of view by showing polar bears getting tans and sea lions playing with a volleyball. I agree with this picture because global warming is affecting places which it haven't had in many ways. we can see this in Antarctica because global warming is melting many glaciers.
ReplyDeleteThe political cartoon that i found more interesting is the second one, because global warming is every were.The message of this cartoon is that although Global warming is every were, is affecting the most in the north pole,the polar bear and seals have to adapt to the changes in order to survive.

I choose the one with army & graduate guy, because its showing how now a days there isnt that much jobs and there incouraging the students or gradutes to go to the army rather then to keep going with school. Since the United States is always in war now and wants more people to join it specaially 18 years old peoples. Which really isnt helping students because more are just dropping out after highs school and going into the army because is a easier way to get money and they tell the students that there gonna give them alot of money!

What this article goes to show is how, war is easily brought upon, while many lives are still trying find jobs in there homes and trying to basically, better themselves. The picture i am describing is the picture of the Army and graduate guy. It just goes to show that even a high school or college, even tho they have an education,and etc, War is easier brought upon the people.

"I find is easier to fight in war than to find a job these days" we agree with this statement because in the world there are many wars than employments. The picture reflects the idea of teens staying in school or going to wars.

ReplyDeleteThis picture, shows that global warming has a big impact on the world. it shows this because they put a north pole sign and animals are their doing sports like its summer and catching tans, they are trying to say that due to global warming the weather conditions are changing drastically. In different seasons it isnt as hot or cold aas it should be in certain places.

This is a serious issue because men feel that if they can't get a job the military is the only option. WE both identified that the person on the left is a male that is dressed in a military uniform...and the other male to his right is graduating from school, it makes it seem like that is the only option out of school.Their body language is just they are both looking at each other.

Also we agree with the quote "I Figure that it is easier to find a war than a job these days" because now a day people are going to war Obama had to send more troops and the economy is going down. And people now are days are getting called to go to war and losing more and more jobs. that's effecting us
ReplyDeleteIn this political cartoon we see two men, one is wearing an army uniform and the other is in a graduating gown both men are white probably the same age and from the same social class only with different paths. They are looking at each other interacting opinion while the graduate tell the soldier that its a lot easier to find a war than to find a job this days... And in my opinion this is what we see every day with the world economy practically on the ground the hardest thing to do is to find a good job, and then theres that tempting offer of joining the army, what would you do?

ReplyDeleteThe cartoon on the left describes how the us government is using so much money to support our troops but here on our homeland people are struggling to find a job. its defining how its easier to join the army than to look for a job because of our bad economy. Also that even people with a degree who go to college cant even find a job outhere. they are reffering that joining the army can help have a job
ReplyDeleteI choose the global warming cartoon because this represents what is going on in the north pole these last years. the cartoon shows pole bears and seals having fun as if they are on the beach, something that is very contradict with their daily life, because their environment needs to be cooler. the cartoon also shows the issues that the north pole is having.
